This week in our unit on snow, we read a book called Snowflake Bentley. In this book we learned about an amazing man named Wilson Bentley whose gift to the world was a series of actual pictures of snowflakes. Through his work with snow, we we able to learn a great deal about snowflakes and their unique shapes!
In addition to learning about Wilson Bentley, we also learned about character traits. We defined what a character trait is and then identified character traits of Wilson Bentley as we read the book. Of course, our character traits had to be supported by evidence from the text! I was so impressed with how well the students did describing Wilson Bentley's character. They identified him as being - patient, determined, unique, curious, and giving!
