This week we explored how many tens and hundreds it would take to make larger numbers. Students were given a larger number like 780 and had to problem solve to figure out how many tens it would take to make that number! Next we used hundreds and determined how many hundreds it would take to make larger numbers in the thousands (ex: 2,300).
We also participated in a Place Value Scoot in order to review, the place of a digit, the value of a digit, expanded and standard form of numbers, determining a number based on a place value block model, creating a place value block model, and determining the number of tens and hundreds in larger numbers.
I was unable to meet with my first graders during our scheduled Thursday time, because I was participating in a TAP meeting. See you next week!
