This week in Project Success, students are exploring analytical thinking! We started off by talking about how we tackle putting together a puzzle. We discussed and practiced finding corner pieces, then side pieces, and then matching pieces based on attributes they shared (part of a picture, a color, words, etc.).
We then carried the concept of thinking about attributes to help us solve problems over to a fun activity called "New Bugs." In this activity, students had to match pictures of new bugs to their names. After looking at the names and discussing what features a bug that is called a Camel Bug might have (humps), or a Leopard Bug might have (spots), we examined the pictures of the bugs and made matches!
The rest of the week will be full of other fun activities like this including:
Things to Do
Shape Names
Laboratory Limpets
